There is no minimum requirement to enter Elementary. Students seeking to enter levels higher than Elementary need to take a placement test.
Course Overview
Learning to speak English opens up a world of opportunities in work, relationships, travel and culture. The General English course brings together the four macro skills of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing with the core knowledge of grammar and vocabulary. Our teachers strive everyday to help students develop native-like pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary use. Students use a core textbook and do homework everyday. There is a weekly test on Grammar and Vocabulary as well as a range of other types of reading and listening activities.
The General English course gives students a firm grounding in the vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar of English. These areas of proficiency are combined and integrated with the four macro skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. These areas of proficiency form the basis of the learner aims, objectives and outcomes for the course.
Assessments
All content, both core and supplementary, and assessments are delivered with the goal of helping students make progress towards the learning outcomes. Teachers use a variety of feedback and correction methods to ensure that students are fully engaged and participating in classes. These modes of feedback include but are not limited to: verbal correction of errors, comments on writing, and scores given on assessments. Students are promoted to a higher level based on their performance in summative and formative assessments, not based on the number of weeks they spend in a level. As a result, some students may advance in less than 12 weeks, others may take longer.

Students need to have completed General English Upper Intermediate to a satisfactory level to enter into the IELTS Preparation Course. Alternatively, if they can present an IELTS, PTE or Cambridge Exam result with an average of 5.5 with no band below 5.0, they can enter directly into the course.

Entry Requirements:
Completion of the General English Intermediate level or a language test score showing an average level of 5.0 equivalent with no band below 4.5 equivalent. Accepted tests include IELTS and PTE Academic.
The English for Academic Purposes course prepares students for further study through the medium of English. These courses include, certificates, diplomas, bachelors and masters. The course focuses on the skills needed to succeed in academic situations. As a result there is a focus on academic writing skills such as essays, oral presentations, and participation in tutorial-style discussions.
Each week has a theme and includes a reading or listening on some recent research or a theory followed by speaking on that topic. First students discuss topics in pairs before the teacher opens the discussion in the style of a university tutorial.
Course Overview
The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course prepares students for further study in an academic setting while also improving their underlying proficiency in English. After completing the course, students may seek to continue their study in foundation studies programs, universities or other tertiary education institutions. The course integrates the four macro skills of Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing as well as Grammar, Vocabulary, and Academic Skills.
The course is incorporates themes relevant to a variety of higher education courses so that students are exposed to materials and tasks similar to those they will find in English-medium higher education institutions. The classes seek to give students an understanding of academic culture in English speaking institutions. The course also recognizes that students may have a range of learning styles which need to be catered for using a variety of teaching methods.
Assessments
During the course, students are required to complete assignments and situations that are similar to those that they will encounter in higher education. The course caters for different learning styles and takes place in a cross-cultural environment which encourages students to draw on their experiences and express their individuality.
