How Studying English in Adelaide Transformed My Life: Adriano’s Journey from Argentina

Adriano, 42, from Argentina: My Experience Studying English in Adelaide

Why I Love Studying English
Studying English is not only useful but also exciting. It feels amazing to communicate with people from around the world without any help. It has also been extremely valuable in my work, as I can speak fluently with foreign suppliers effortlessly. While I still have a long way to go to reach my ideal level of fluency, being able to communicate now is already incredible.

My Inspiration to Learn English
As an electronics engineer, English has always been essential. It’s not only needed to communicate but also to read documentation, follow tutorials, and understand codes and circuits that are generally written in English. I started learning English out of necessity, but I soon began to enjoy the language and use it in other ways, such as watching movies without subtitles or following English-speaking streamers.

What I Loved About Adelaide
What I enjoyed the most was meeting new people and starting from scratch. In Argentina, I had many friends and a stable career, but in Australia, I had to build everything from zero: finding a job, making new friends, and discovering whom I could trust. Although challenging, it was also incredibly enriching.

Using English in Daily Life
Taking four hours of English classes every day improved my skills like never before. Living in an English-speaking city forced me to use the language constantly—not only in class but in everyday situations. From opening a bank account and applying for jobs to handling visa paperwork, going shopping, or getting a haircut, every experience became an opportunity to learn and practice English.

Achievements and Career Growth
After returning to Argentina, I started working as a New Product Engineer in a tech company. My role requires continuous learning and researching new technologies. Thanks to my English skills, I can now access documentation and tutorials directly in English and communicate effortlessly with suppliers from China, Russia, and the United States. This has become a major advantage in my career.

My Future Goals
My goal in English is to reach full fluency. Although I no longer study formally, I continue listening to podcasts, reading, and consuming as much English content as possible. Professionally, I aim to keep improving my communication with suppliers and stay updated on the latest technologies. Personally, I want to maintain and create international friendships and enjoy movies in their original language.

How Studying English in Adelaide Changed My Life
Studying English in Adelaide gave me not only knowledge of the language but also the confidence to communicate. I can now access information in both English and Spanish, opening up new opportunities for my career and personal life. In fact, stepping out of my comfort zone allowed me to start my own mobile application business in Australia, which will soon launch to the market.

The Highlight of My Experience
The real highlight was how I studied English in Adelaide—it gave me confidence and opened professional opportunities. Living there improved my skills both in class and in everyday life. Thanks to this progress, I now enjoy my role as a New Product Engineer and maintain a business connected to Australia, with plans for international expansion.

Final Thanks
I am deeply grateful to the entire Native English team, especially Dan, Jennifer, Zsana, and Frankie, as well as the Willworld team, especially Andrea, for their support, kindness, and dedication.
