Gael 27 Mexico
Self-Introduction
Hi, my name is Gael. I’m from Mexico City and I’ve been living in Adelaide for one year. Moving from one of the biggest and busiest cities in the world to Adelaide has been a big but very positive change in my lif
What Inspired Me to Study English
I originally decided to study English because I wanted to communicate confidently with people from all over the world. In Mexico, English is also becoming essential for better job opportunities, especially in international companies, tourism, and business. I knew that improving my English would open many doors for my future career.
The Most Difficult Parts of Learning English
For me, the hardest part of studying English is trying to express my real thoughts and ideas in another language while using correct grammar and good pronunciation at the same time. Sometimes I know exactly what I want to say in Spanish, but it’s difficult to translate those thoughts quickly and naturally into English. Pronunciation and speaking fluently under pressure are still my biggest challenges.
What I Love About Studying at Native English College
What makes Native English College special is that it’s not just an English school — it feels like a real community for international students. They organise lots of excursions, social activities, and parties, which give us the chance to practise English outside the classroom while making new friends.
As an international student, this has been incredibly helpful. I’ve made many good friends from different countries such as Brazil, Japan, Thailand, Colombia, and Korea. These activities have helped me improve my speaking skills in real-life situations and reduced the feeling of loneliness that many students experience when studying abroad.
My Teachers and Classes at NEC
I really enjoy the classes at this English language school in Adelaide. The teachers are native speakers and they make every lesson very practical and engaging. We do interesting activities like debates, group discussions, and role-plays that help us use English in natural ways.
They are also very friendly and patient. When we make mistakes, they correct our pronunciation right away in a supportive way. This immediate feedback has helped me improve much faster than in previous schools I attended.
What I Love About Adelaide
I love the laid-back lifestyle in Adelaide. Compared to Mexico City, there is much less traffic, the city is cleaner, and people are generally very friendly and welcoming. The pace of life here is slower, which makes it much easier to enjoy studying English in Australia and settle into a new country.
Life as an International Student in Adelaide
After one year here, I can honestly say that choosing to study English in Adelaide was one of the best decisions I’ve made. The combination of quality ELICOS courses, a supportive college environment, and a friendly city has helped me grow both personally and linguistically.
Native English College has created a perfect balance between serious English study and enjoyable social experiences. The excursions and activities organised by the college have allowed me to explore South Australia while practising English every day.
Final Message to Future Students
If you’re thinking about studying English in Adelaide, I highly recommend Native English College. Whether you want to improve your speaking confidence, make international friends, or prepare for better career opportunities, this is the right place.
It’s more than just an English course — it’s a place where you can build friendships, experience Australian culture, and genuinely improve your English in a fun and supportive environment.
I’m really glad I chose Adelaide and Native English College. My English has improved a lot in the past year, and I’ve gained many great memories and friends along the way.
